Ammolite specimen donated by Korite International

The Emblems of Alberta Amendment Act, 2022 (Bill 6) recognizing ammolite as part of the province's unique heritage by making it the 12th official emblem of Alberta has passed.

The spectacular Ammolite Ammonites of Alberta Canada are well known to collectors and museums worldwide. Primarily because René Martinus Vandervelde, one of the founders of Korite International was instrumental in having Ammolite recognized as a gemstone, marketing it worldwide since the early 1980s.

Korite International played a part in getting the Act passed. They had the Premier of Alberta visit the facility gave him a tour of the labs and quarry, showing him the impressive specimens that have come from the ground in the province.
