Its aim was to promote the excitement of the natural sciences and foster an atmosphere of fun blended with academia in the various fields of the earth sciences (mineral, fossil, gemstones and meteorites). That first event featured only 17 companies yet drew about 10,000 visitors. Today, the 29th Tokyo International Mineral Fair will feature important vendors representing as many as 150 companies from about 30 countries around the world.
