Turin (or Torino), Italy’s 4th largest city (Rome, Milan, Naples), hosted the Winter Olympics (2006), the World Masters Games (2013), and is a 3-star Michelin Travel recipient. Located in NW Italy, Turin is surrounded on the north and west by the Alps. The 2015 Turin Show, the 44th edition, is held at the prestigious Lingotto Fiere exhibition center, where over 250 exhibitors spread throughout 8,000 sqm of space. Special exhibits are carefully chosen annually, including the respected MINA Exhibition, which deals with a different aspect of mineralogy each year. Vendors (mostly from Italy, about 30 from other countries) display a variety of gems, minerals, fossils, shell, and precious stones, and the organizers do a tremendous job of specially exhibiting gems from Italian locales and showcasing pieces from important European collections.
