Sidewinder Minerals acquired 812 mineral specimens from a fine mineral collector in New Mexico in January 2019. This collection features specimens from locations that have been closed since the 1990’s including the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, Dalnegorsk in Russia, and various mines in Arizona, Illinois, Brazil, and Mexico. Bill Jones started collecting minerals and fossils while a geology student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He retired in 2011 after 35 years in the oil and gas business to focus on growing his mineral hobby into a full-time business. He has been a dealer in an average of 17 Gem & Mineral shows a year since 2012. He also sells mineral and fossil specimens online at www.rockygems.com.
