For twelve days in September, Denver, Colorado, hosts 13 separate shows featuring 900-ish vendors and exhibitors displaying and selling rocks, minerals rough or handsomely prepped, sleek gemmy treasures, crystals crying out to heal all that ails ya, zillion-year-old fossils, and brazen beads. They're all here in every color on a peacock's plumy train!
A couple of the largest and most internationally important gem, mineral, and fossil events are held at the National Western Complex and the Crowne Plaza Hotel. NWC is the venue for The Denver Show (same folks who operate the 22nd Street Show in Tucson and The NJ Show), the Denver Expo Gem Show (same promoter of the Kino Gem & Mineral Show in Tucson), and Miner's Co-op (where true rockhounds love to hang). The Colorado Mineral & Fossil Show at Crowne Plaza is a don't-miss event, with plenty of fossils and mineral dealers from around the world. CMFS owner, Sandra Gonzales (Rocky Mountain Gem & Mineral Promotions), has been operating shows for a relatively short period of time, but she and her team have proven to be world-beaters at this game, opening another great Denver show in the spring loaded with dealers, two shows in Texas, and two brand-new shows in Tucson that premiere in Jan-Feb. 2022.
Be sure to visit the Colorado Independent Warehouse Show on the west side of town for way-too-low prices on rocks. Janet, Steve, Victor, and Frank just can't help themselves; they'da been able to retire with millions by now if they would've sold their top quality rocks for what they're worth!
Stop in at what is now the longest-standing show (at the same venue) in the Denver Showcase, the JG&M Expo at the Clarion Hotel and say hi to Danny and Asherah (also well known for their Tucson shows). And if you're looking for some of the finest mineral and crystal specimens during the Showcase head back to the east side and visit Leonard and Cal at the Just Minerals & Crystals Event. These guys know high-end, quality rocks!
The HardRock Summit is back for their second year at the Colorado Convention Center, along with its partner: AGTA GemFair™ of Tucson and Las Vegas fame.
There's so much to see at the Second Largest Gem & Mineral Showcase in the World. If Tucson is the Grandaddy of them all, Denver is Grandad's number one son, and he's all grown up, matured, and gotten finer with age!
